A Domain Model is an abstract model that represents the key concepts and relationships within a particular domain. In the field of manufacturing, for example, a domain model can represent the different types of machines and equipment used during production. The goal of a domain model is to reduce the complexity of a domain and to improve communication between stakeholders and the development team. In this talk, we will clarify the general theories behind domain models based on Domain Driven Design and Martin Fowler's Enterprise Architecture Patterns. We will then focus on the specific application of domain models in the manufacturing industry and provide examples of their use in this context. This will allow us to demonstrate the benefits of the approach using real-world examples, rather than just deriving them from simplified scenarios.
