Even though we already work with more than 3,000 hotels, we value every single customer who trusts in our solution. In the following video, we conducted an interview with the Empire Riverside Hotel Hamburg to get an insight into the benefits of our product and experiences with our solutions.

We at straiv are a team - and to ensure that we remain so despite our dynamic growth, team events are very important to us. From a trip to the "Canstatter Wasen", a traditional folk festival in Stuttgart, to a hike with wine tasting or a city tour of Stuttgart for colleagues who have relocated especially for straiv. With many different activities, we want to improve our sense of community and grow together as a team. 🫶

straiv was founded in 2015 - but with a different name. Until early 2022, we were called CODE2ORDER, and the name was appropriate at the time. The initial idea was to use a QR code to place orders and pay for them via a mobile device. With our change of strategy - from gastronomy to the hotel industry - it was clear to us from the outset that our company name no longer fitted the new business model.

So in February 2022 our rebrand was realized!

But why straiv? The name straiv is similar to the English verb “to strive”, which conveys our high goal orientation and strong forward drive. The initial letters STR also refer to the connection of the company and the founders to the city of Stuttgart, as STR is the abbreviation for the airport in Stuttgart.

straiv also combines the three most important control commands of a keyboard and describes our technology as a shortcut, thus reflecting the digital shortcut to the various services of the hotel industry. With this adapted letter combination, familiar to most since their first contact with computers, we communicate the efficiency and automation that our solutions create in the industry. 🚀

The place where our ideas are created and developed. Our office in Stuttgart is an important part of our team spirit, because this is where we grow together as a team and where we improve ourselves as individuals. 

Our office offers many advantages. With ergonomic workstations, a chill area, rooftop terrace, spaces for exchange and focused work, our office is the perfect place to work, grow and celebrate. In addition, our office offers several telephone booths where you can talk in peace. Our desks are also height-adjustable, because not everyone wants to sit in front of their computer for more than 8 hours. In our "Stube" you can always find a cold chilled drink of your choice (most of us prefer beer) to toast after work (sometimes even before four). 🍻

It all began in 2015 with the idea of simplifying ordering and payment in restaurants for guests. Our founders Patrick Luik, Fabian Hieber and Alexander Haußmann then developed a solution that made it possible to place orders in the restaurant with your own smartphone and request the bill digitally...

The restaurant industry wasn't ready yet. They decided to change the business model and the focus. The solution was further developed for a different sector with similar challenges - the hotel industry. Right from the start, it was clear that we wanted to offer a hotel experience for guests without the need to download an app and without additional hardware.

Each of the three has a very important role at straiv:

As Managing Director, Patrick Luik is responsible for Strategy, Finance, People & Culture and Product & Development.

As Managing Director, Alexander Haußmann is responsible for Marketing, Sales, Customer Success and Partner Success.

As Head of Development, Fabian Hieber is responsible for the technical implementation and further development of our solutions. Together with Patrick Luik, he heads the Product & Development team.

And of course, as well as business partners, they are still friends - who can be very proud of what they have achieved together so far!

Structured onboarding is very important to us, as it allows us to build a long-term relationship with our colleagues. All our colleagues should be given a clear picture of the company and understand our mission so that they can make a contribution.

Even though we are currently experiencing major growth as an entire team, one thing is particularly important to us - individual development. That's why we offer the opportunity to make suggestions for workshops within the team in order to develop skills and surpass yourself. 

Individual growth does not always have to take place alone - on the contrary, we believe that you can achieve much more in a well-functioning, supportive and communicative team. That's why we also like team workshops, as an exchange can provide new perspectives and points of view - we want to gather knowledge here at straiv, share and learn from each other and thus become better as individuals. ✅

Due to our increasing growth of new colleagues, we expanded our office space to the second floor last week. This expansion not only provides more space for our growing team, but also allows us to optimize our working environment and foster the space for creative collaboration. We firmly believe that an inspiring work environment is crucial to achieving our goals and developing innovative solutions for our clients. We would like to thank all our employees for their hard work and dedication that has made this growth possible. Together we will continue to succeed and reach new heights. This expansion is a testament to our commitment to continued growth. 🚀
