Vienna, 18.05.2018 - The WeAreDevelopers World Congress 2018 gathered more than 8.000 attendees in Vienna, making it the largest event for developers in Europe. More than 250 internationally renowned speakers, of which Steve Wozniak, Joseph Sirosh, Joel Spolsky and Andreas Antonopoulos held keynotes on the 10 stages of the Congress in the last 3 days.
After three days of a full schedule came the WeAreDevelopers World Congress 2018 to an end tonight. After bringing for the first time more than 8.000 developers to the Austria Center Vienna, doubling the number of attendees compared to previous years. During the three days, more than 250 internationally renowned speakers came up on the 10 stages in order to discuss with the developer scene the newest trends in the tech industry.
The co-founders of WeAreDevelopers and Congress organizers were happy with this year’s success and the advancing internationalization of the event:

The event encompassed more than 150 talks and over 90 workshops and hackathons which focused on a broad spectrum of topics, such as Artificial Intelligence, Security, Blockchain, Internet of Things or Virtual Reality. As well global enterprises such as Google, BMW, the REWE Group, Otto or Microsoft, as young tech companies such as Bitmovin, LeanIX, Orderbird and GitStorage presented their newest products on the four floors of the Austria Center Vienna. More than 100 exhibitors were represented in the Expo Area of 25.000 square meters.
Amongst the highlights were the attendance of Apple co-founder and developer legend Steve Wozniak and the keynote of Microsoft’s Chief of AI, Joseph Sirosh, who talked about the future of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. AIs Bitcoin and blockchain Expert Andreas Antonopoulos wowed the audience of over 4.500 people on the Main Stage with his talk about “Bitcoin, Ethereum, Open Blockchains: Building Programmable Money”.
The WeAreDevelopers World Congress is expected to take place next year in June.
